Hocus Pocus

"Take three batty witches, a trio of photogenic children, one talking black cat, one slightly used blues song and throw them all into a script. Now, say the magic words (Hocus Pocus) and what have you got? Disney's half-baked recipe for box office success. Hocus Pocus is a pretty lackluster affair....The wicked Sanderson sisters [are] a campy, quarrelsome lot, like Moe, Larry, and Curly in bordello drag. Despite the triple-threat actress combo, Hocus Pocus won't be the Sister Act of 1993. There are a lot of gotta-sees this summer, and this isn't one of them."

In 1693, the three Sanderson sisters - Winifred, Sarah, and Mary - are witches in Salem, Massachusetts. They are caught by the townspeople, tried, and found guilty of sorcery. Before being hanged, they cast a spell allowing them to come back to life in the future. In 1993, a teenager named Max accidentally resurrects the three witches on Halloween. It falls to him, his sister, Dani, and his friend Allison to stop the witches who are trying to lure the children to their home and suck the youth from their bodies.
